Letter 31 - The Emir Mohammad Sharif Ouda

To the State of Israel and all its inhabitants,

Compassion is a basic need of any human being.

Loving all people, like the most merciful mother loves her children. Having compassion is a quality without which a human being becomes an animal. The human is considered human, as long as he can treat his fellow humans with love. We have to behave towards all people gently, compassionately and generously. We should be compassionate towards all nations and all human beings.

The urge for compassion towards all human beings is a natural urge which exists in all religions. Most people oppress others because of the natural urge for self-compassion, as if they don’t consider others as equal human beings. Such a situation cannot be a measurement of a good virtue, but a natural impulse that can be viewed amongst crows and other birds. When a crow dies, all the crows of their family gather around him. Such behavior is considered to be very nice and human.

A person that acts righteously when needed, practices the highest virtue, which is compassion.

It is God’s virtue, as it is written in the holy Quran: “whoever is compelled by extreme hunger—not intending to sin - then surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful”. (Surah Al-Ma'idah, 3)

We should help ourselves and to show compassion for others, in every possible way and at all  times. We should not help, however, with anything that has enmity and oppression, as God said: “They try to hide ˹their deception˺ from people, but they can never hide it from Allah - in Whose presence they plot by night what is displeasing to Him. And Allah is Fully Aware of what they do”. (Surah an-Nisā, 108).

The highest virtue of prophet Mohammed, may he rest in peace, is: God's statements about him: “He has no partner. So I am commanded, and so I am the first to submit”. (Surah Al-An'am, 163) All his actions are for Allah and for peace and tranquility among all.

To my esteemed associates!

Since we were not asked to which family we want to be born to, and we had no choice over this issue, therefore, we are all equal. Prophet Mohammed, may he rest in peace, gave us a formula that is needed today more than ever before, by saying: “All people are the children of Allah, those who are most beloved are those who do good by others”. He also said: “The best of people are those who are most effective to all human beings”.

Respectfully,

The Emir Mohammad Sharif Ouda
